Department Of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics established in the year 2008. The department has well qualified faculty members and impart best education to the students. The students are provided with ample opportunities to improve their organizational skills and group dynamics. Apart from emphasizing consistent and good academic performance, the department encourages participation of students in curricular and co-curricular activities to bring out the best in them. The core objective of the department is to impart students with logical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills equipped with more technological and scientific computing techniques based on mathematical methods.
M.Sc. Mathematics programme had started from 2011. The curriculum lays a strong foundation in the core areas of higher mathematics in both the pure and applied topics, namely, Field Theory, Complex Analysis, Measure and Integration, Differential Equations, Module Theory, Topology, Functional Analysis and Fluid Dynamics. A pool of choices in elective courses gives flexibility to the students to opt for the course of his/her choice on the advanced topics in Algebra, Analysis, Topology and various branches of Applied Mathematics.
The Department of Mathematics is supported with faculty members who supplement conventional chalk and board pedagogy with rigorous tutorial sessions, presentations, group discussions and special lectures/seminars. A systematic feedback mechanism helps the department to gauge the effectiveness of its teaching-learning process.
